Company History and Mission Statement
Cassidy's Transfer & Storage was established in 1908 in the town of Pembroke, Ontario as a drayage company transporting baggage from the train station to homes and businesses in the area. Being near to the military base at Petawawa, Ontario allowed Cassidy's to expand its services into moving household furniture outside of the local area. Cassidy's first became an agent of North American Van Lines but when United Van Lines came to Canada, Cassidy's eagerly joined the new van lines in 1967 and has been a agent for United Van Lines ever since.
Since 1971, Cassidy's Transfer & Storage was purchased by Gordon Robinson and has been operated by him and the Robinson family ever since. Under Gordon Robinson, Cassidy's has enjoyed steady growth and is now one of the largest transportation companies in the Ottawa Valley with offices in Pembroke and Ottawa. Over time Cassidy's has expanded the services they offer their customers and now have a large freight operation in addition to household moving.
Cassidy's Transfer & Storage has a mission to continue to provide quality transportation services to the general public, government agencies, and corporate customers. Cassidy's believes that long term commitment to service is best provided by a stable family business that can see beyond short term profits. Cassidy's rejects uncontrolled growth as a goal and is committed to maintaining shareholder equity through being able to react quickly to our customers needs.
