of Owenbriar's Solitary Rose,
Sophie.

She is also the face on the cover of the 2005 Keeshond Club of America National show catalogue having won that privilege over many lovely entries. Sophie is blessed with the lovely Keeshond head described in our breed standard which is set off by the correct eye shape and colour, markings and expression.

The
idea for the logo and the origin of my kennel name is a combination of the
two great passions of my life (aside from my family) which are Keeshonden
and roses. The "Owen" part is from my surname of course. Rose growing
started about 1978 and in fact right around the time I purchased my first
Keeshond. Both have given me much pleasure (and some considerable
frustration) ever since. With this last move to the Ottawa Valley we are
starting over again with another kennel renovation and another rose garden
and it will be a while before either are completed. It's a pleasure so I
really don't mind.

The concept of the logo is my own but it took an artist to change what was in my mind's eye into reality. The logo was drawn to perfection by Graphic Designer, Chow breeder/exhibitor and my friend Wendy Reyn of W'inc. She was able to bring what I described to life in this stunning drawing that will live on long after Sophie leaves us. Thank you Wendy!
