Attendance
If your son/daughter is absent, please telephone the school between 8:00a.m.
and 9:15a.m. If we do not receive a call from you we will try to contact
you. In this way the parents and the school will ensure our children's
safety. If contact cannot be made, please send a note.
Teachers have reported their concern over the number of notes received
in the past requesting that children be allowed to stay indoors at recess
or at noon. The policy of St.Thomas the Apostle School is that, for safety
reasons, children are not to be left unsupervised in the classrooms, and
as teachers need a break at these times, such requests do present a
problem.
May we suggest that except in special cases, children suitably dressed
for the outdoors would probably benefit from the fresh air for a few minutes.
If you have a special problem, please do not hesitate to call the school
