School Dress Code

1.   Clothing that promotes the occult, violence, sex, drugs, alcohol, or individuals or groups who represent or endorse such activities are not in keeping with the teachings of a Catholic School and are not to be worn to school.

2.    Torn clothing, halter tops, tube tops, mini skirts, muscle shirts, net shirts, and related clothing are considered 'beach wear' and not appropriate for school wear. Shorts are permitted for all grades, that is, shorts that are mid-thigh in length.

3.    Students may be asked not to wear certain pieces of jewelry to school. The wearing of jewelry is a potential hazard during physical education classes and during play time in the yard.

4.    Caps must be removed upon entering the school.

Inside Footwear

Health, safety, and cleanliness factors dictate that outside footwear be changed as weather requires before entering class. A second pair of shoes is therefore required for inside use only. Physical Education running shoes may be used for this purpose, so don't double-up unnecessarily.

Students will not be permitted to wear only socks in the classroom. Socks are slippery and are considered a safety concern. Socks are also inappropriate in the case of an emergency exit from the school. If the fire alarm were to ring, students would not be able to take time to put on shoes before exiting. Therefore, it is important that students have a second pair of shoes at school at all times, for these reasons also.
