Homework

Normally our policy concerning homework would be limited to completing daily work from class. The amount of time required will vary according to individual student needs and their respective grades and ages. Homework may take the form of assignments, research study, note completion, projects or simply reading for enjoyment. We ask your assistance in respect as the need arises.

Grade 1 & 2

Children should participate in previously outlined activities, or perhaps review numbers, reading vocabulary, etc., for very limited time. Your child's teacher will have specific suggestions, should you ask, or should the situation be unusual.

Grade 3

Fifteen minutes daily is recommended for completion of assigned work and for study of spelling, math, or vocabulary.

Grade 4,5,6

Thirty minutes daily is recommended. In addition to suggested activities, pupils are to definitely study notes, math, and vocabulary. The building of good study habits is greatly assisted by daily application.

Grade 7 & 8

Pupils of grades seven and eight will have homework most days. Adequate advance notice is always given for tests, and for completion of research projects. Sixty minutes of homework daily is recommended for continued academic success.
